Biography

Jeff Ware’s life journey brought him to wood sculpting five years ago. In the time that followed, he’s excelled in the craft, producing numerous free form sculptures in a diversity of woods and styles, but always highlighting the nuances of each piece of wood, small or large. Jeff encourages people to interact with each sculpture, to touch the sensuous feel of the wood and the intriguing shapes. He works with both native woods from North Carolina and tropical hardwoods, starting his creative process with an open mind as to what the wood might eventually reveal to him. During that voyage of discovery Jeff, through a stream of consciousness, concentrates on making the wood itself the hero of the finished piece. He has his creative studios located in Asheville, North Carolina and Key West, Florida.
